Upcoming Litters

We currently have a breeding tentatively planned for spring/summer 2027 but check back often for updates! If you are interested in one of our puppies, the first step is to fill out our puppy application. Read more about our puppy process below!

Current Litters

At this time, we don't have any litters available. If you are interested in one of our future puppies, please fill out an application.

Last Frontier's Puppy Process

First and foremost, we do not wish to end contact with our puppies when they go home. We vow to be there for our new owners and puppies throughout the puppies' lives and will always be just a phone call away. We want our puppy families to feel like just that, family. And wish to maintain contact throughout your puppy's life (and possibly beyond!).

To be considered for a Last Frontier Shiloh puppy, you first must fill out a puppy application in full. We will then contact prospective owners and see if it is a good fit for both parties. We are more than happy to point you in the right direction if we don’t have what you are looking for.

After application is complete and contact is made, potential owners will be placed on the list for upcoming litters if room is available. No puppies will be guaranteed until the litter is born. Once puppies are born, we will contact people on our list and send out contracts to look over at which time a non-refundable deposit of $500 (payment method to be determined individually) must be placed to solidify your spot for a puppy. The rest of the puppy payment amount will be due at or the week before pickup depending on payment method. If for any reason you are unable to complete your plan to get a puppy from said litter, your deposit can be transferred to another litter under breeders' discretion. Please note we are a small breeding program, so we don’t typically have litters on a consistent basis.

At 7 weeks old, puppies will be placed through LER testing (a puppy evaluation process). At 8 weeks old, the puppies will be structurally evaluated, at which point we will decide which puppies will go to breeding/mentorship homes and which puppies will go to pet homes. After the puppies have had their LER and structural assessment, decisions will be made by Grace as to which puppy is going to what family. This is a hard wait for new puppy owners; however, the process is highly beneficial. You will be matched with the best possible puppy for your specific needs.

We will post weekly photos to our Facebook page as well as impromptu photos of the litter as they grow. Puppies will go through Puppy Culture, ENS, be socialized and desensitized to multiple stimuli, begin the communication trinity, and begin crate/potty training before going to their new homes at 8-10 weeks. Puppies will also come with registration certificate, and deworming records.

We require all new puppy owners to pick up their puppy in person. We do not ship puppies. If you have any further questions about the puppy process, feel free to give us a call or send us an email!

Thank you for considering a Last Frontier Shiloh puppy!

Mentorship and Breeding Opportunities

Our focus in breeding is to not only provide families with the best companions but to also do everything in our power to preserve and better this amazing breed! Our Shilohs are first and foremost our family. They live in our home freely and do not live in a kennel situation. This leads us to a difficult balance between pushing to continue the breed, while also limiting the number of dogs we have personally in our home, as we want to meet all of their mental and physical needs individually.

To combat the battle of trying to keep a puppy from every litter we produce, we have mentorship opportunities available to allow us to use Last Frontier Shilohs progeny in our breeding program! This further allows our dogs to live fulfilling lives, while allowing their families to invest in the breeds future under the Last Frontier name.

We are constantly seeking families interested in mentorship and breeding arrangements. We typically try to place at least one breeding prospects per litter to assure the genetic value of that specific pedigree continues forward. In our eyes, breeding solely for pet puppies prevents this breed from continuing into the future.

Below are some common questions regarding this process. Please note we are highly selective about who we work with on a breeding/mentorship level. We do not accept everyone who is interested and we also require a phone interview after a puppy application is submitted to make sure this situation is a good fit for both parties involved.

What do mentorship opportunities involve?

Mentorship is flexible based on the situation and agreement. Your Last Frontier puppy will be Holter monitored between 5 and 9 months old. At 18 months old, your pup will go through adult health testing, which we will help coordinate and assist you with in all ways possible. Last Frontier Shiloh’s will be responsible for assisting you in all registration related items that need to be completed. Once your dog has passed all of their health testing, they will be listed on Last Frontier's website. We will be responsible for coordinating all tasks related to breedings behind the scenes unless otherwise agreed. Depending on if you have a stud or a breeding female, obligations to both sides will vary greatly and can be discussed further in depth via a phone conversation. All normal medical and care costs of the puppy are the responsibility of the puppies family.

What is required of me if I want to be involved?

First, we ask that you submit a puppy application, once that is received, we will coordinate an initial interview call. The normal puppy process is otherwise the same. We require mentorship candidates to keep their dogs intact, complete all health testing and registration requirements, and stay in active contact with Last Frontier Shiloh's during the dog's development. When your dog passes all health testings there may be times we require your dog to go to a reproductive specialist on short notice to fulfill any necessary breeding tasks. Your dog will never be out of your care in these instances. Breeding plans are typically made well in advance but there are times things progress quickly, or a specific day is needed for a breeding. All breedings are approved through Last Frontier Shilohs and will follow ethical breeding standards.

What if I am not interested in becoming a Shiloh breeder on my own or I want to start my own breeding program?

Mentorship opportunities can help in guiding you into developing your own Shiloh breeding program OR it can simply be a relationship under Last Frontier Shilohs. You are not required to become a breeder yourself unless you want to and can just function under the Last Frontier name if you only wish to help the breed in a small (and invaluable) way!

What does health testing my dog require?

Health testing required includes: Holter monitoring between 5-9 months of age, Hip and Elbow testing at 18 months of age or 2 years through OFA and PennHip, and DM testing through OFA or Embark (only requires a cheek swab). There are other optional tests that can be performed if the owner so chooses.

Is there an additional financial commitment to participating in this process?

We determine mentorship agreements on an individual basis. Generally, the owner is responsible for health testing costs.

What do I receive in return for participating in this program?

Once again agreements vary on an individual basis. For males, this typically entails receiving a future puppy at no cost or splitting of stud fees as applicable. For females, this can vary greatly depending on the circumstances and agreement. This can be discussed much further in depth on the interview call.

If you are interested in a mentorship/breeding opportunity, the first step is submitting a puppy application. Be sure to mark your interest in this process or reach out directly!
